Why I build my own tools
There's a tradition in software of scratching your own itch. Building Tasks — my personal task manager — has taught me more about UX, performance, and what it means to care about software than almost anything else I've done professionally.
Tides: building a peritoneal dialysis app for people at home
Tides is a companion app for people on peritoneal dialysis — a kidney treatment done at home, multiple times a day. Building it meant designing for users who are often tired and unwell, where simplicity isn't aesthetic but essential.
